Founded in 1654, New Kent County has a rich, deep history which includes a number of historic sites and people.  The county is a traditionally rural county that sits between Richmond and Williamsburg, both of which are easily accessible via Interstate 64.

New Kent Schools seek to instill an understanding of the counties' rich history in their students while providing them with a top rate education that will prepare them to forge into the future.  The schools provide instruction to approximately 3300 students in grades pre-K through 12.  Students are exposed to a wide variety of instructional experiences that will prepare them for the career path of their choice and to be productive members of society that give back to their community.
