NKCPS Kindergarten Registration

New Kent County Public Schools Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. 

Children must be five years old by September 30th, 2026, to enroll in Kindergarten.

Complete Enrollment Forms

Online enrollment forms for 2026-2027 open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026, and should be completed before your scheduled appointment.

Completing forms in advance will help ensure a smooth and efficient registration appointment.

Schedule a Kindergarten Registration Appointment

Once you have identified your zoned school and completed the enrollment forms, use the appropriate link below to schedule a Kindergarten registration appointment. Registration will take place on select dates in April and May. Rising Kindergarten students must attend the appointment with a parent/guardian.

Required Documentation

Please bring the following documents to your scheduled Kindergarten registration appointment:

  • Certified birth certificate
  • Proof of residency, including:
    • Deed, lease, or contract for a new home
    • Two additional documents, such as:
      • Valid driver’s license with current address
      • Car registration
      • Utility bill or hook-up documentation
      • Personal property tax bill
      • Bank statement
      • Payroll stubs
      • Voter registration
      • Car or homeowners insurance policy or card

Physicals and Immunizations

A school entrance physical and immunization record is required for all students entering Kindergarten. These records must be submitted before the first day of school.

Families are encouraged to schedule medical appointments early to avoid delays.

Additional Documentation (If Applicable)

Please bring any additional documents that support your child’s education, health, or safety, including:

  • Custody documentation
  • Individualized Education Program (IEP)
  • Section 504 plan
