NKCPS received this accolade in the Workers' Compensation category for school divisions with a student population of less than 5,000. The recognition reflects the district’s proactive approach to fostering a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and the community. By prioritizing well-being and operational excellence, NKCPS demonstrates a commitment to creating a culture of safety and responsibility.

The Excellence in Risk Management Awards are presented annually by VAcorp to honor school divisions across Virginia excelling in safety and risk management initiatives. The awards celebrate efforts to promote safety, reduce workplace injuries, and manage risks effectively.
