The following is a list of some of the more popular organizations and museums in the greater New Kent area that have summer activities for students and families. Just click on the link and see what is available at each location. Some are free, some have costs associated with their programs. Most are on a first-come-first-served basis. Some of the programs are for identified gifted students only, however, most are not. |

| Science Museum of Virginia. | Touch, observe and explore the impact of science on your life from astronomy to computers, from flight to crystals, from DNA to electricity — all within the elegant grandeur of a historic, renovated railroad station. |
| College of William and Mary | The Center for Gifted Education provides unique opportunities for high ability students to attend Saturday and Summer enrichment courses on the campus of The College of William and Mary. The Saturday and Summer Programs are targeted for students currently in Kindergarten through Grade 9. |
| Math and Science Center | Participate in innovative programs on Saturday and during the Summer. Programs are held at the Center, the Medical College of Virginia, the VCU School of Engineering, and at various area schools. Over 75 different courses are offered annually. Explore the many programs available, find an interest, and register to participate. |
| Virginia Air & Space Center | Take flight to the Virginia Air & Space Center in Hampton, the birthplace of America's space program and the official visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center. Your imagination will soar as you launch a rocket, pilot a shuttle and try on wings to feel the lift that makes things fly. Come face to face with the Apollo 12 Command Capsule that went to the moon, a moon rock, a Mars meteorite and historic planes. Experience an IMAX film in the giant-screen IMAX Theater. |
| Virginia Living Museum | Explore Virginia's natural heritage from the mountains to the sea with live exhibits that look back at you. Transport yourself to the steamy world of a cypress swamp, complete with alligators and snapping turtles. Explore the underwater world of the Chesapeake Bay and the underground realm of a limestone cave, plus enjoy hands-on activities. See spectacular views of the sun from the observatory. | Virginia Museum of Fine Arts | The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is committed to education in the arts for all Virginians. Through Preschool Programs, the museum pursues this goal for young people (ages 2-5) and their families by regularly offering a variety of studio art programs. Through the Children’s Studio, the museum pursues this goal for young people (ages 5-12). If you are a beginner, intermediate, or experienced teen artist looking to expand your creative abilities and expressions we have a class for you. Work one-on-one in the studio with a professional artist and meet, study with, and discuss art with people who share your interests. |

| Virginia Time Travelers | Get a Passport and take it with you to museums and historic sites all across Virginia. Collect six or more stamps and you can earn a certificate of completion signed by Governor Tim Kaine and be eligible to receive an official TimeTravelers T-shirt. |
